Hidden Voices: Americans with Disabilities in United States History Posters

The Department of Social Studies & Civics' Hidden Voices project helps students find their own voice in history as they become analysts of the past and make connections to the present. Each edition of Hidden Voices supplements and is aligned to Passport to Social Studies. The design and included resources allow teachers to integrate and explore inclusive learning experiences that validate the diverse perspectives and contributions of underrepresented individuals and groups. The Hidden Voices project is a product of collaboration between the NYCDOE and many scholars, institutions, and educators. The Hidden Voices project is comprised of several volumes of Resource Guides, Lesson Plans, & Additional Resources.

This collection includes posters featuring profiled figures from Hidden Voices: Americans with Disabilities in United States History
