Patsy Takemoto Mink

We hope this comic biography will introduce new readers, particularly younger readers, to Patsy Takemoto Mink. She was a third-generation Japanese American woman from Hawai‘i who fought for Title IX, the federal legislation that mandates gender equity for schools that receive government funding. She also was an advocate for peace, civil rights, and environmental justice. This story will inspire readers to become researchers and storytellers of the past and advocates who stand up for what they believe is right and just.
